Rapidly identify known terrorist-authored material on digital devices

Developed by Cyacomb in partnership with counter-terrorism subject matter experts Human Cognition, the TAM Contraband Filter combines rapid detection technology with a human-curated, expert-validated reference dataset. It helps investigators establish whether known terrorist-authored material is present on a device, supporting faster, more informed decisions.

Two areas of expertise. One capability.

Human Cognition identifies, verifies and curates reference material authored or published by organizations designated as terrorist by recognized government and international authorities. Cyacomb uses its rapid detection technology to identify files matching material in that dataset across text, audio, images, and video.

  • Identify relevant material sooner. Help investigators priorities devices for further investigation.
  • Human-curated, expert-validated data. Reference material is reviewed by Human Cognition subject matter experts before inclusion.
  • Focus on material that matters. Establish whether known material is present without manually working through large volumes of unrelated information.

What does a detection mean?

A detection indicates that material matching the curated reference dataset has been identified on a device. It does not assess ideology, intent or beliefs, determine whether an individual is a terrorist, or replace investigation and expert analysis.
