Preventing Transnational Child Abuse at Borders

In Episode 4, Ian is joined by Simon Rose. Simon is an independent advisor specializing in the prevention of transnational child abuse. With over 45 years of experience, primarily in the UK Home Office, Simon has held key roles across Border Force, precursor National Crime Agency, the Foreign Office, and international projects in Asia and Africa. Most recently, he served as Capabilities Lead for the UK Border Force’s National Safeguarding and Modern Slavery teams. Simon’s work focuses on leveraging border and customs powers to counter child sexual abuse and exploitation at international borders - a mission driven by his enduring commitment to operational threat response.

Cyacomb met Simon through his work at UK Border Force. Ian sat down with him to discuss his experiences, career, the need for technology and all the challenges faced at international borders.
